Why Valorant eDPI Matters

Valorant is a "precision" tactical shooter where horizontal and vertical alignment is everything. Most successful players prefer a lower eDPI (between 200 and 400) because it allows for more consistent "micro-adjustments" on the head. A lower sensitivity means that a 1mm physical mouse error results in a smaller on-screen pixel error. If you're feeling inconsistent, try our Perfect Sensitivity finder (PSA Method) to isolate your ideal range.

Scope Sensitivity & Zoom

Valorant uses a "Zoom Sensitivity Multiplier" (standard 1.0). If you want your Operator or ADS sensitivity to feel identical to your hipfire based on monitor distance, many pros recommend 0.887 for 1080p displays. This compensates for the focal length change when zoomed.

Effective_Zoom = eDPI × Zoom_Mult

Raw Input Buffer

Located in the 'General' settings, Raw Input Buffer (RIB) is essential for high-polling rate mice (2000Hz+). While it doesn't change your eDPI, it multi-threads your mouse inputs, providing a smoother rotation and less frame-time variance during intense aim duels.

Optimization Checklist

  • Consistent DPI: Ensure your DPI software is locked. Avoid 'Default' profiles that might switch in alternate apps. Read more about official game updates from Riot Games.
  • Enable Raw Input: Always leave Raw Input 'On' to avoid Windows acceleration interference.
  • Mousepad Friction: Clean your mousepad monthly. Humidity changes can effectively "shift" your eDPI feel by increasing friction.
